About Ethnea H. Ferguson, CPA
I have been working in public accounting for over 25 years. I was admitted to practice as a Certified Public Accountant by the Accountancy Board of the State of Ohio in 1991. My accounting career began in a larger regional public accounting firm -- Kopperman & Wolf, then I moved to a smaller local firm Gale, West & Doran, smaller again at West & Company (me being "the company") -- and finally launching my sole practice in June of 2006.
The focus of my practice is working with closely held businesses, business owners and individuals. During my career I have worked with a variety of small businesses, the business owners and other individual tax clients. I enjoy working directly with the business owners and find great satisfaction in forging a close working relationship with my clients.
Professional memberships include both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (of which I am also a member of the tax section).
Personal background: a Graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA (my hometown!), I'm married with 2 adult children and on March 28, 2012 I became a grandma! I'm an avid reader and belong to a book club. I love photography and am a member of the Cleveland Photographic Society. My husband and I love to travel. We're both transplants to Cleveland and dearly love Cleveland and all it has to offer. We spend as much time as possible hiking in the Cleveland Metroparks and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
